Class field trips, combined with the student internships, play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. These experiences allow students to directly observe and engage with the equipment and processes they study, deepening their understanding of steam systems.

The class had a great experience on a recent field trip to Cleveland Thermal, where Josh Cebull, a former student and now the Night Lead Engineer, guided them through the inner workings of old Stirling boilers and D-type watertube boilers.
His expertise and familiarity with the equipment made the tour especially insightful. The students were highly engaged, with one taking a closer look through a view port to check the fires, while another paid close attention as Josh explained the importance of proper water chemistry.
Thanks again Josh !
